We want to promote that the cooperative co-housing incorporates people in a vulnerable situation in social housing destined, for example, to ostracized young people, women victims of sexist violence or people with intellectual diversity. 

Co-operative housing in right of use has been spreading in our house for years, generating more and more interest and consolidating itself as a real alternative in access to housing. Currently, one of the challenges that the sector is working on the most is the promotion of this model as a tool to cover the housing and coexistence needs of people in a vulnerable situation.

In order to make this possible, different organizations in the sector have joined forces to develop a transversal and pioneering project throughout the Catalan territory. This project, entitled 'Strengthening social and inclusive housing in cooperative co-housing', has received the award of a Singulars project of the Generalitat de Catalunya and will be able to promote that cooperative housing incorporates people in a vulnerable situation in social housing destined, for example, to ostracized young people, women victims of sexist violence or people with intellectual diversity. 

At this time of growth and widespread momentum for cooperative housing in right of use, we consider it key to ensure its commitment to the social values ​​of integration and acceptance of diversity. Not only because of the consistency with the model itself, but above all because of the potential democratizing effect and enriching of the citizenry as a whole and by the incorporation of forms of social innovation as for the models of coexistence and neighboring communities. 

What will we do as part of this project?

Some of the performances planned in the framework of the project are:

• La generation of spaces for reflection and content laboratory, as well as a toolbox and practical resources to promote the incorporation of social housing in cooperative housing projects.
• Research and innovation actions to facilitate and promote social and inclusive cooperative housing
• The application of the results of the actions previous for the promotion of social housing in the existing housing cooperatives, others.
• Visibility and dissemination campaign of cooperative housing partnerl between agents in the sector and also addressed to the general public
• Creation of the cooperative group to promote social and inclusive cooperative housing

The promoting and collaborating entities of this project we are experts in the different fields necessary to innovate and promote social and inclusive cooperative housing, which will also allow to generate more services, expand the social market and increase the impact of its activity. We are:

Specifically, a Sostre Cívic, this project gives us the opportunity to:

• Get to know better the socio-economic reality of the cooperative's user members
• Establish circuits and internal processes for the management of homes destined for the Emergency Desk
• Start the inclusive community project located in Sant Andreu, with special focus on the inclusion dimension.
