A Sostre Cívic We are very pleased with the success of our volunteer social capital campaign! Since last December we have raised more than 654.000 euros, thanks to the contribution of 82 members, 32 of which have recently joined the cooperative. Since we started this possibility in 2022, There are already 140 members who have participated, managing to mobilize more than 1 million euros..

Voluntary share capital is an extra contribution that members can make, in addition to the 100 euros required to join the cooperative. It is a social investment that benefits everyone: the cooperative is financially strengthened to promote new projects and improve the economic accessibility of housing, and people who participate receive a fixed annual interest of 3%. This system strengthens our financial capacity and makes it easier for us to access other sources of external financing.

This collective financing tool has been key to financially strengthening the entity and growing the cooperative housing model of Sostre Cívic. Currently, we are promoting 11 new projects throughout the country, which will total more than 370 homes, and which will be added to the 14 current buildings with nearly 190 homes already in operation, where more than 250 members live. That is, with the management of more than 550 homes, Sostre Cívic today leads the cooperative housing movement in Catalonia, within a total of 1.200 cooperative homes that exist in the territory. Of the new projects planned until 2027, 6 have the co-financing from the Council of Europe Development Bank, which has been granted to Sostre Cívic un credit of 31 million euros. It is the largest loan ever granted by a European institution to a Catalan cooperative.

What are participatory titles?

Participatory securities are a form of ethical and cooperative investment that allows you to support a cooperative housing project through a financial contribution. In return, you get a fixed annual interest and, after a while, the money invested is recovered with transparent and safe conditions:

• Every title is worth 500 EurosYou can buy one or more.
• The securities have an initial maturity of 3 yearsThen, each year you can decide whether you want to renew them or get your money back.
• Each title has a fixed interest of 2,5% each yearFor example, if you buy a €500 title, you will be charged €12,50 each year.

At this time, we have contributions available for the following projects:

• Cal Paler Nou (Cardedeu): 39 homes in the final phase of construction on private land.
• Cirerers (Barcelona): 32 wooden homes in the Roquetes neighborhood, inhabited since 2022, in the economic consolidation phase.
• La Balma (Barcelona): Consolidated and internationally recognized emblematic project, with open contributions to strengthen its economic sustainability.
