HABITAR: the new magazine on the right to housing promoted by CRÍTIC i SOSTRE CÍVIC

The two cooperatives strengthen ties organically: Sostre Cívic will become a collaborating partner of CRÍTIC, and CRÍTIC will become a collaborating partner of Sostre Cívic

Housing is an essential good and not a commodity. This is the central idea of ​​the paper magazine HABITAR, published by the cooperative digital medium CRÍTIC with the support of Sostre Cívic i Habicoop, the federation of housing cooperatives in Catalonia. HABITAR includes 144 pages of journalism filled with CRÍTIC's essential research on large landlords, interviews with activists and experts, infographics to understand the most complex keys in a simple way and a dossier that focuses on cooperative housing for the transfer of 'use as an alternative to speculation. 

With 1.500 subscribers and ten years of history, CRÍTIC has established itself as a reference medium in social and investigative journalism. Housing is one of the touchstones of the medium, and for that reason for years Sostre Cívic and CRÍTIC maintain a stable relationship. We have already worked with them on other projects, such as the series of The Keys podcast and the section Sostre Crític. This 2024, beyond publishing the magazine, we will take a step further and strengthen ties organically: Sostre Cívic will become a collaborating partner of CRÍTIC, and CRÍTIC will in turn become a collaborating partner of Sostre Cívic.

HABITAR has been directed by the journalist and co-director of CRÍTIC Roger Pala, and editorial coordination was carried out by the journalist Jordi de Miguel. Fàbrika Gràfika has again taken over the design of the header.
