The new space consolidates the cooperative triangle in the center of Barcelona, ​​with the headquarters of Grup Ecos on the street Casp and that of the Col·lectiu Ronda on Trafalgar Street

We have acquired a 1.400 m² premises on Trafalgar Street in Barcelona, ​​together with three sister cooperatives —Arç Cooperative, We are Connection and Crític— with the aim of creating a shared workspace open to social and solidarity economy projects.

This new space will become the future headquarters of the four entities, but we want it to be much more than just offices. Our goal is for it to become a meeting point for transformative initiatives, with capacity for 120 jobs and infrastructures designed to generate collective activity and social impact. Arç Cooperative is an ethical insurance brokerage with more than forty years of history; We are Connection, an ethical telephone cooperative; i Crític, a media outlet specializing in investigative journalism and critical analysis of Catalan social reality.

The rehabilitation works have already begun. The architectural design is being carried out by the cooperative. Celobert, while execution is the responsibility of the cooperative La Constructiva. The space is scheduled to become operational in May 2026.

This project represents an investment of 4,5 million euros and has been possible thanks to the contribution of own funds and the financial support of Coop57 i Fiare Banca Ètica, which is the first time they have collaborated on joint financing. In addition, Crític has a participatory loan from the Seira FoundationThis operation allows us to advance in the heritage strategy and provide ourselves with a stable base for long-term growth and consolidation.

More than offices: a cooperative ecosystem

It's not just about sharing a physical space, but about jointly building an ecosystem of collaboration, knowledge and social transformation. The venue will have a event hall open to social and solidarity economy activities and events, as well as a video podcast studio driven by Crític.

With this step, we consolidate the cooperative triangle in the center of Barcelona, ​​next to the Ecos Group (on the street Casp) and of the Col·lectiu Ronda (also on Trafalgar Street). Arç, Crític i Sostre Cívic We are already part of the Ecos Group, so this new space strengthens alliances and networking between cooperatives in the territory.

Why is this project important?

A Sostre Cívic We understand that to grow the cooperative ecosystem, it is also necessary to consolidate its assets. With this purchase, we are taking a strategic step to guarantee long-term stability and access to spaces in the city center, which are increasingly restricted for social economy initiatives.

This project is also a clear expression of intercooperation: four entities that share values ​​join forces to build a solid alternative in areas as diverse as housing, insurance, telecommunications and journalism. And, as always, we do so by putting life and community at the center.
