More than 150 people visit the buildings of Sostre Cívic during Open House weekend
This autumn is off to a strong start: an October full of activities to promote the Social and Solidarity Economy (ESS) and housing cooperatives in right of use. During this month, we have been present at key events to bring the cooperative model and the values of the Social and Solidarity Economy closer to the public. Through the Fira d'Economia Social de Catalunya (FESC) and the weekend of the 48h Open Coop House, we had the opportunity to exchange experiences, explain our model of housing in right of use and share with other ESS initiatives.
The Social Economy Fair of Catalonia
On the weekend of October 19 and 20, the FESC Festival (the Solidarity Economy fair organized by the XES) took place, with various activities and dynamics that filled the park of Barcelona's Northern Station, in the Fort Pienc neighborhood. With the participation of around 90 initiatives from all over the territory, it gathered an average of 650 people per hour. Here you can read the chronicle made by Jornal.cat.



We were present as part of the space Easy Changes, organized by the companies ofOpcions. along with We are Mobility, We are Energy, We are Connection i Arç, we gave information to everyone who approached about how to take advantage of the different ethical consumption options available to them.
We did one too open information session to explain the model of cooperative housing in right of use that they attended more than 60 people.

Open 48 hours Coop House
On the weekend of October 25 to 27, we organized the 48h Open Coop House, a parallel event and in collaboration with the festival of 48h Open House Barcelona. It was a great opportunity to get to know first-hand our cooperative housing projects in right of use that have been in coexistence for years.
The partners of Sostre Cívic they opened the doors of their house and they explained what the process was like to take the project forward and what their day-to-day life in the community is like. The participating projects of this edition were La Balma (Poblenou, Barcelona), Cirerers (Roquetes, Barcelona), La Xicoira (Olesa de Montserrat), i Clau Mestra (La Floresta, Sant Cugat del Vallès). Between all the visits, they happened more than 150 people interested in learning about this alternative way of living.
