The La Voliana project was a building previously in disuse and owned by a financial institution that we have recovered to offer access to decent and affordable housing in the town of Lleida from a collective management, with a public and non-speculative vocation.
This project is located at Ripollès street, number 3-5, in the Lleida neighborhood of Balàfia, and consists of a ground floor, three floors and an attic. It is new construction, built in 2010, and has never been inhabited. It is located 12 minutes walk from the Lleida-Pirineus train station.
This building was acquired in 2023 through the first-come, first-served approach, a method that allows us to recover disused homes to remove them from the speculative market. If you want to know more, We'll explain it to you here.The objective of the project is to generate new subsidized housing at prices lower than those in the free rental market and promote a stable and affordable housing supply.
What are the homes like?
The building has 15 homes, of different types and numbers of rooms, 13 of which are the ones we have acquired. Sostre Cívic to offer them in the form of a right of use for our members.
In total, there are 13 homes that have two bedrooms, minus the 1st floor, which has a single bedroom. All homes have outdoor spaces, terraces, balconies or porches. There are also two duplexes.
Since the acquisition at the end of 2023, we have carried out several renovation actions (windows, blinds, bathroom renovations, photovoltaic panels, etc.) in terms of environmental sustainability: the combination of supply installations allows users to use self-produced renewable energy. In addition, a monitoring system has been installed that serves to optimize the use and operation of the facilities, and which facilitates the involvement and empowerment of the neighbors regarding their energy consumption.
