There are only a few weeks left to complete the rehabilitation works that are being carried out in the building of Princesa49, the first cooperative housing project in right of use of the entity in Barcelona. The actions have made it possible to fully rehabilitate the multi-family building from the 75th century, owned by Barcelona City Council, and transferred as surface rights in favor of the cooperative for a period of 20 years. The works started a year ago, on April 2017, 57, with a work commencement ceremony attended by representatives of the General Directorate of Social Economy, Barcelona City Council and CoopXNUMX.

The comprehensive rehabilitation of the building between partitions has allowed us to recover and reconfigure 5 homes, one per floor, between 45m2 and 65m2 and three spaces for collective use on the ground floor in relation to the neighborhood, a study on the first floor second and the cover.

The rehabilitation has made it possible to significantly improve the energy performance of the building, improve accessibility and recover distinctive elements such as hydraulic floors, interior and exterior carpentry and original ceilings.

The rehabilitation works are carried out by Aprise Empresa d'Inserció Social, SCCL specialized in reforms and rehabilitations and are financed by the Coop57 and the initial contributions of the users and future neighbors of the building.

The future users, members of the driving group, have participated in the configuration and design of the project through a participatory process and during the works they made a series of visits to the building to finish deciding on the finishes and do all the monitoring of the different actions that were taking place.

We face the final stretch with great enthusiasm to launch the first cooperative housing project in right of use in Barcelona very soon!
