Last Monday, May 15, the Barcelona Municipal Housing Board announced the awarding of five municipal lots to promote cooperative housing in the city.
We have been awarded the Poblenou lot (Sant Martí), while the entity Cohabitat Cooperatiu - an initiative of which it is also a part Sostre Cívic– has been the successful bidder for the Roquetes site (Nou Barris). With these two new projects Sostre Cívic we consolidate ourselves as one of the reference entities to develop the cooperative housing model for right of use in Catalonia.

The lots will be transferred as surface rights in favor of the cooperative for a period of 75 years, with the possibility of extending it for 15 years, during which the cooperative commits to the conservation, management and maintenance of the property. From the moment the surface right is established in favor of the cooperative, it has a period of six years to finish the works and obtain the qualification of Official Protection Housing (HPO).
