Terra de Mar consolidates: sixteen new units join the cooperative housing project Palamós

Visit to the works of the driving group of Terra de Mar

A Palamós, our project Land of the Sea is moving forward with strength and good news! In the last recruitment campaign, we have added 16 new living units to the cooperative group. With these new additions, There are already 29 active units out of the 34 planned., and we plan to fill the remaining places with people who are already on the waiting list.

These figures only reinforce what we already knew: there is a very real need for viable alternatives to access decent, stable housing free from speculation in the territory. In fact, until now, 341 people have already registered as interested by being part of the project.

An enthusiastic response from the territory

The response to the information sessions has been spectacular. The one on March 20th brought together more than 100 people, and the one on April 1st, 46. We are very excited to see how more and more people are opting for more communal, accessible and sustainable ways of living. We feel part of a committed social fabric and eager to do things differently.

The project is taking shape!

The works, which began at the end of 2023, are progressing at a good pace. We have already placed the wooden modules and started the interior paving work. We have also finished the main staircase of the building! All of this allows us to begin to imagine what it will be like to live in Terra de Mar, a building designed to be a benchmark for cooperative, sustainable and community housing in the Girona region.

The homes, designed by UMMA architects, will have between 1 and 4 bedrooms and between 39 and 67 m², with high standards of energy efficiency and the GREEN seal of the Green Building Council Spain. If everything goes as planned, members will be able to move in during 2026!

With a transformative vocation

Welcome meeting for new hires

Terra de Mar is not just a building. It is a vital commitment to a different way of living and coexistingWith the incorporation of new units, we are working on consolidating the group and revitalizing the internal committees, already thinking about moving in and actively building the community from September.

As Josep Fourcade, one of the partners in the initial group with the longest experience in the project, explains, “It is a great joy to be able to consolidate the group with the latest additions.", multiplying voices and emotions makes us feel even closer to this new experience."

With homes of different sizes and affordable rates, Terra de Mar wants to welcome diverse profiles and promote mutual support, rootedness and sustainability.
