Institutional visit to the project Princesa49 to Barcelona

Last February 21 we opened the doors of the project Princesa49 to receive the visit of the main actors of the promotion of cooperative housing in right of use to the first building ceded by the City Council to an entity to promote cooperative housing in a regime of right of use for 75 years.

The Barcelona City Council participated in the event, Mr. Gerardo Pisarello, first deputy mayor of Barcelona, ​​Mr. Josep Maria Muntaner, housing councilor and Mr. Álvaro Porro, commissioner of Social Economy and Local Development and Consumption together with the representatives of the Generalitat. Mr. Jaume Forn, Director of the Catalan Housing Agency of Catalonia and Mr. Josep Vidal, Director General of Social Economy, Third Sector, Cooperatives and Autoempresa de Catalunya. The event was also attended by the coordinator of Coop 57, Ramon Pascual and the manager ofAprise Social insertion, Victor López.

During the day, a first presentation of the project and the process was made la Sala Noble of the Convent of Sant Agustí in Barcelona with the participation of David Guàrdia de Sostre Cívic, Eira Melé, president of Fase Princesa 49, Núria Petit, project coordinator and Joan Barba, construction manager of the cooperative housing project of Princesa 49.

Subsequently, the building at C/ Princesa 49 was visited, the cooperative is currently carrying out the comprehensive rehabilitation works of the property which will end in April and consists of 5 homes and community spaces. 6 coexistence units participate in the project and the users have participated throughout the decision-making process as explained by Eira in the presentation of the project.
