The COVID epidemic exposed the tragic situation of nursing homes, most of which are owned or run by large private companies and vulture funds. The serious deficiencies of some centers that have become businesses, while forgetting the social nature of care for people, were evident.

Once so many dysfunctions have been reported, it is necessary to know if there are other residences that are governed by humanitarian criteria. For this reason, next Saturday, April 6, at 11 a.m., a debate will take place at the Ateneu Cooperatiu La Baula (C. del Nord, 4 - Lleida) on alternative models to guarantee a dignified old age for residents .
