Consult our Social Balance 2022

Once again we have carried out the Social Balance of the XES to measure the social, environmental and good governance impact of our entity. The evaluation of our activity helps us to improve!

The Social Balance is an accountability tool promoted by the Social Economy Network (XES) that measures the social, environmental and good governance impact of ESS entities, as are we. To be more specific, it evaluates systematically, objectively and periodically five thematic axes, such as economics and profit politics, equity and democracy, environmental sustainability, social engagement and cooperation, and labor quality.

As of 2022, all XES member entities must fill out this questionnaire annually on a mandatory basis following the agreement reached at the organization's Ordinary General Assembly. A Sostre Cívic from the beginning we have considered it an essential tool to guarantee transparency and allow us to analyze our activity in order to improve it, and for that you can consult the Social Balance reports of our cooperative since 2016 at the'Transparency section from the web. We summarize below the most prominent conclusions of the 2022 report:

Sustained and positive growth

We increase our income from €648.171 to €835.841, representative considerable growth in our economic activity. In addition, we close the year with €11.147,66 in the positive, a very tight surplus margin, consistent with our non-profit social purpose.

This is how in recent years our balance sheet has been growing, as a reflection of the growth of projects, but always in a sustained way: in 2022 we grew by 12% compared to the previous year.

With a gender perspective

Although the female presence is maintained in the general composition of the cooperative, with 62% of members being women, yes the presence of women in positions of responsibility has increased, which increases from 33 to 50%.

Along these lines, and in relation to the organization's technical team, we have managed to reduce the gender pay gap, which goes from 8,2% to 0,3%, at the same time that we have increased the average salary and that has practically equalized that of men (€25.978) and women (€25.909).

Participation and democracy

We also celebrate that we have had more members participate in the Ordinary General Assembly of the cooperative, with 173 attendees, representing a increase from 12,3% to 16,5% compared to the previous year. Despite opting for a hybrid format and maintaining online participation for those who so desired, it was one moment of celebration and face-to-face reunion, after 2 years of mandatory online meetings as a consequence of COVID-19.

Continuing with indicators of internal democracy, for the first year the working people of Sostre Cívic participate in the organization's governing bodies. In order to improve the representativeness of the diversity of the social base, in 2021 we will update our governance model through a participatory process that includes, among other measures, the creation of the figure of working partners and the constitution of the'Assembly of Labor Partners in July 2021.
