WHO ARE WE AND WHAT DO WE WANT

Currently the driving group is made up of 8 coexistence units, of which they are part 18 people, 4 children and 14 adults aged between 25 and 45. We are people closely linked to the associative and cultural fabric of the city, in fact many of our links are born in the youth association of Barberà del Vallès.

So we are a group of residents of Barberà that als beginning of 2019 we decided to put fil a l’agulla to start building a project that had occupied our informal conversations for some time. Suffering great difficulties in accessing housing, anxiety rises when trying to find some stability for the future. The individual solutions offered by the market do not meet our needs or our vision of the world, so we decide to explore and experiment with other models.

We want to launch the first cooperative housing project in right of use of Barberà del Vallès. A project on the margins of speculation, which takes into account eco-sustainable criteria and breaks with individual models that isolate people and opts for spaces that encourage coexistence and interrelationship.


BECAUSE?

These are some of the reasons that pushed us to start this adventure:

SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION
Because we are betting on a housing model that defends it as a right, apart from the speculative logic of the market. Because we want to promote the growth of alternative models and contribute to the fight for the right to housing.

LIVING IN COMMUNITY
Because we believe that community life enriches and complements us. Because against individualism and loneliness we want to build affective and mutual support networks. 

STABILITY
Because we are sick of unchosen instability. Of the instability to which the current rental situation condemns us and the helplessness it entails for tenants.

LIVING IN COMMON
Because we are excited to be able to actively participate in the design of our home. We want to learn and be an active part. Investigate sustainable architecture. Think and rethink individual and collective spaces, and that the design can respond to the analysis of needs and wishes.

FAIR PRICE
Because we want to pay a price for housing, which corresponds to real costs, and which is not subject to market speculation. Because we don't want our resources to be dedicated to enriching banks, large construction companies, real estate groups or large landlords.

PUTTING ROOTS IN THE TERRITORY
Because we want to live connected in our city. With the neighborhood and with the associative fabric. Because we reject the bedroom city model and believe in active participation and collective construction that allows us to fill our city with life.
