Today the VII Fira de l'Economia Solidària de Catalunya (FESC) was the setting for the presentation of the proposal for the creation of the Cooperative and Transformative Housing Sector of the XES.

At 19:10 p.m., la sala Empar Coloma has become a meeting place for projects, entities and groups that we want promote co-operative housing under a regime of use, during the talk Let's network to promote cooperative housing in right of use.

We made this presentation together with our colleagues from:

• The Dinamo: Foundation that was born with the aim of encouraging and promoting the implementation of the cooperative housing model under the right of use regime.
• The Board: Housing cooperative in the Sants neighborhood (Barcelona).
• The Network: Housing cooperative in the Barceloneta neighborhood (Barcelona).
• To live: An inter-cooperation project of Celobert, Coop de mà i Fil a l’agulla, to comprehensively accompany groups in the process of realizing their collective housing project.
• rude: Association whose aim is to promote cooperative housing in right of use in the Vallcarca neighborhood (Barcelona).

Why do you want to create this sector?

The objective of this sector is to create a space with the will toarticulate this sector and make it grow. Just last year, a first call was made open to the FESC itself to assess the idea of ​​an articulation of the sector, moved by a context of growth of projects and groups and by the lack of a space of these characteristics until at the moment Also due to the need to follow up on the competition model promoted by the Barcelona city council.

Since that meeting in 2017, the 6 entities have met monthly to discuss and define the proposal of the Sectoral that was presented today to the FESC. The presentation, which you can consult here, has been structured in the following 5 parts:

• Reading of Manifest of the Sectorial proposal.
• Explanation of the objectives of the Sectorial.
• Key points of the right of use model.
• Presentation of the organizational proposal of the Sectorial.
• Finally, there was an explanation of the lines of action and next steps, which include: establishment as a sector of the XES, incorporation of new entities, joint disclosure as a sector, actions to exert political pressure, and the strengthening of the model .
