The call of the Unique Projects aims to generate employment through the creation of new business projects, new lines of business, new companies and new markets within the framework of the social and cooperative economy and taking advantage of strategic opportunities in the activity sector itself or in the territory.

This grant is within the framework of the Social Economy, and is promoted by the Department of Work, Social Affairs and Families of the Generalitat de Catalunya, with funding from the Ministry of Employment and Social Security of the State Public Employment Service.

Thanks to having been beneficiaries of the Projectes Singulars 2018 program, since Sostre Cívic we worked for consolidate the model of cooperative housing in right of use and its implementation in the territory through the following projects:

• Senior co-housing in Catllar: With this project we have promoted the creation of a driving group to promote the rehabilitation of disused heritage to create cooperative housing in right of use for the elderly in the factoryel Catllar, in Camp de Tarragona. We thus propose a new model of active aging that puts the participation of the users at the center in the democratic governance of the promotion, from the design to the management of the community itself. • La Serreta, a pioneering project in Catalonia: We have reclaimed private land from the speculative market to create cooperative housing! Thanks to the campaign Tornassol, of participatory titles, which was quite a success, we managed to release a plot of private property and promote a new cooperative housing project in Cardedeu. • Promotion of the project of La Balma, in Poblenou (Barcelona): The driving group, of 18 coexistence units in its formation, has had a consolidation process during this time, where its own work methodology has been developed and the architectural firms Lacol and Laboqueria have jointly drawn up the basic architectural project with the users. • #ReactivemSolanell: This project responds to the problem of depopulation of the rural area in general and the Pyrenees in particular. Its objective is to generate a driving group that can carry out, in case of consolidation, an analysis of the viability of the initiative and a first phase of rebuilding with criteria of bioconstruction and sustainability of two houses that are currently in ruins, Cal Gironai and Cal Llehí Read more about this project!

• Cooperative housing for young people in Baix Empordà: Faced with the serious problem of access to housing for young people, in an environment of job insecurity and a real estate market focused on tourism, the project wants to get 14 affordable homes for young people in Calonge and Sant Antoni. During this time we have worked on the consolidation of the driving group, with information sessions and dissemination through different media, and we have collaborated with local administrations and other entities of the social and solidarity economy to move forward this project.

• Dissemination of the urban farmhouse model with the activation and rehabilitation of a disused building in Lleida for young people: with the aim ofto promote urban masoveria projects in the city, we have done different actions with young people in the territory to consolidate a new motor group and train them on the basic issues of the operation of the model and of cooperative housing in right of use.

• Coordination of the different projects, generating strategies and support tools and consolidating group management, and participation and self-organization.

In addition, faced with the challenge of facing the new cooperative housing projects of new construction of Sostre Cívic, and with the aim of deepening the incidence of the model in the social economy, we decided to bet on the creation of a non-profit cooperative aimed at the construction of cooperative housing in right of use.
