L’eixida it is a pleasant, welcoming space in the house, an interior and exterior space at the same time, an intimate and open space. is therefore a space that breaks with dichotomies, which is on the margin: a space that is inside the house and at the same time is open to the neighborhood, a space of traffic between the interior and exterior of the house, an open space but at the same time protected and protective.

For us, it also has a metaphorical meaning, which expresses our desire to get out of market logic, from housing speculation. Get out of the instability of an unaffordable rent. Get out of the isolation of the private domestic space.

Exit to enter a L’eixida: a collective project, in community, diverse, open and welcoming. An ecological and energetically sustainable construction project, a solidarity project that fits with the values ​​we want to live by.

Who are we?

We are a small group of members of Sostre Cívic residents in the province of Barcelona. In October 2020 we met in a group creation workshop Sostre Cívic and, after a few meetings, we formed a seed group in January 2021.

We are currently 10 people – 7 adults, 1 teenager and 2 children (4 living units) - from different places of origin. Together we want to build a collective and solidarity project that will allow us to live in the city of Barcelona.

How do we imagine our project?

The characteristics and principles we have defined are:

  • right of use.
  • Avoid market logics.
  • Bet on ecological and energy sustainable construction.
  • Minimize private spaces to gain common spaces and reduce costs.
  • Location: Barcelona city, avoiding the main avenues if possible.
  • Number of housing units: minimum 8.
  • Group: is open to other people who are members of Sostre Cívic.

Our housing "dream" would have several common spaces and services:

  • A "clean" space with a shared library.
  • A "dirty" space with workshop(s).
  • A green space (it could be a terrace, a patio or a garden).
  • A common kitchen.
  • A common laundry.
  • shared internet

Apart from physical spaces, we want to create community based on the exchange of knowledge.
