We start the project works Princesa49 in Born!

The works of Princesa49, the cooperative housing in the right of use regime in the Born district of Barcelona, ​​which according to the planned schedule will finish the works this year, and will be the first integral cooperative housing project in the city.

Last April 20, the works of the first comprehensive cooperative housing project in the city were inaugurated. It will be at Carrer Princesa, 49, in the Born district.

The works will serve to rehabilitate a multi-family building from the XNUMXth century, owned by Barcelona City Council, which is currently in disuse. The project will allow the residents of the neighborhood to live there under a right of use regime.

The opening event was attended by the Director General of Social Economy, the Third Sector, Cooperatives and Self-Employment, Josep Vidal, and the Barcelona City Council Commissioner for Cooperative, Social and Solidarity Economy and Consumption. Jordi Via

The architect Joan Barba, representatives of the construction company Aprise, the coordinator of the ethical and solidarity financial services cooperative Coop57, Ramon Pascual, and the secretary of the Xarxa d'Economia Solidària de Catalunya, Xavi Palos, also took part. of the members of the entity Sostre Cívic.

The works will be carried out by the construction company Aprise, a social insertion company whose objective is to generate jobs for people with some type of disability. They have an expected duration of 31 months, in which it is planned to make the necessary arrangements to obtain completely renovated and energetically sustainable homes.

Works will be carried out to reinforce the structure, build an elevator, installations, sanitation and closures. The works also foresee a process of self-construction by the future user partners in order to collaborate in the reform.
