We promote a new cooperative housing project in Manresa 60 homes of official protection to the Pont de Vilomara road, number 121, between the neighborhoods of Viladordis and La Balconada, on land owned by the municipality. The aim of the project is to generate new sheltered housing at prices lower than those on the free rental market and promote a stable and affordable housing supply. It will be the second largest cooperative housing development in Catalonia, after the Sant Andreu inclusive project in Barcelona with 62 homes.
In this way, this project wants to answer both the problem of access to affordable housing and that of social inclusion. As collective property and management, the project proposes an alternative way of accessing affordable housing and social inclusion, through the democratic and participative management of the same users of a public policy such as the right to the housing
THE BUILDING
The new building will have a constructed area of 7.173 square meters, and will consist of four collective spaces and one local municipal, in addition to parking spaces. The large community areas will be designed by the shared life between all the neighbors, the uses of which will be decided by the future partners.
Work on the building is scheduled to begin next fall, and is expected to include the architectural cooperative LaCol for its architectural design. The construction will follow criteria of energy sustainability, almost zero consumption (nZEB), with production ofenergy from renewable sources, construction with materials and low-impact construction systems, in addition to minimal generation of waste and reuse of materials. It is expected that the partners will be able to move in in 2026.
