We are opening registrations for the Walden XXI senior housing project

Last Saturday, September 22nd, we closed the cycle of information sessions on Walden XXI that took place throughout the month with a very good reception... and now we begin the next phase of the project!

There are many people interested in this cooperative housing initiative in Sant Feliu de Guíxols and who have contacted the current engine group to participate. That is why today we are opening registrations to choose to be part of this driving group. Don't miss all the details!

But... what is Walden XXI?

It is a project ofcooperative housing in right of use (HCCU) exclusively for seniors, designed to have care and health services in the future, when the users need it.

A project is proposed thirty homes adapted for the elderly, in a regime of right of use, and with a wide provision of collective spaces. The promotion will be built with criteria of social and solidarity economy and sustainability.

This project is pioneering and aims to serve as a guide for other initiatives and to be able to replicate it in other places in the territory, to offer a active and self-managed old age, and at the same time to reactivate our disused heritage, with a non-speculative housing model.

At the moment the driving group has already located a building in which to locate the project and work is being done on the feasibility study of the project, which contemplates the aspect of urban regulations, architectural proposal, and economic and financial plan.

How to participate?

Of all the interested people, the current driving group will choose those it considers most similar to the project. We explain how the process of incorporating new members will be:
