We promote the urban farmhouse: an alternative to access to housing!

The urban farmhouse is a typology of collective housing project based on non-speculative models, recognized by law, which is based on an agreement between the owner of a house (who cedes the use of it, for a certain time) to the masoveres (who undertake renovation works and agreed maintenance). Reform works and maintenance actions can have different scopes and objectives, and are adjusted to the capacities and expectations of both parties.

A Sostre Cívic we promote urban farming to give exchange value and use in housing, give more affordable access to people and groups, activate and mobilize empty, damaged or outdated housing and rehabilitate disused heritage with criteria of accessibility and sustainability.

If you are interested in this alternative model of access to housing, you can download the manual that we have edited on urban masovia. The manual contains the four essential steps: define the group, search for the heritage, define the project and execute the farmstead.
