We are starting the second year of the new training plan Sostre Cívic, after the good reception of the first, to continue progressing in self-management and participation of members.

New Training Plan a Sostre Cívic

A Sostre Cívic we want to guarantee the right to housing through the self-promotion of cooperative housing in right of use. We believe in a transformative housing model, and we want to do it through self-management and the participation of partners in the development of all phases of the process of promoting a collective housing project. For this reason, it is necessary to socialize the knowledge we are accumulating after the experience of more than 20 projects and empower partners to create stronger, more democratic and resilient communities.

With these objectives, at the beginning of 2023, the new Training Plan for members was promoted. The proposal was based on different training itineraries depending on what phase each partner is in: first steps, impetus for new projects, development or coexistence. Each itinerary is made up of different sessions that are progressively related. In this way we facilitate participation and it is an opportunity to generate stable groups that share different activities, thus generating bonds and cohesion. One more motivation to participate!

Successful participation in the first courses

During the first semester of the new Training Plan, 3 courses were held with 3 itineraries, with 12 training activities and a hundred people registered between them.

The Training Plan consists of 4 itineraries, each with around 4-5 activities. The sessions of each itinerary work on different subjects linked to a specific stage of the development of the group and project and combine theoretical activities, practicals, visits to projects or experiences and working documents.

The 4 itineraries defined in the Plan are

• #1. First steps course. Course designed for groups in formation and Groups then and also for people who arrive at the cooperative.

  • We guarantee rights: Right to housing and ESS
  • We generate a shared vision
  • Governance and care in the consolidation of groups
  • Architecture and habitat criteria.
    
• #2. Impulse Course Course intended for seed groups and projects that do not yet have concrete assets.
  Classes:
  • Deepening the model of cooperative housing in right of use.
  • Economy of cooperative housing projects. 
  • Conflict management.
  • Urban planning and heritage search.
  • The process of developing a project.
    
• #3. Course Development. For projects in the promotion stage, with a specific heritage and in the drafting of the architectural project and work.
  • Promotion management.
  • Economy of promotion.
  • Coexistence model.
  • Sustainability criteria.
  • Construction management
    
• #4. Coexistence course Intended for female users of a house in right of use
  • Consumption monitoring: system operation
  • Insurance in a cooperative housing project
  • Economy in coexistence projects

Course intended for seed groups and projects that do not yet have concrete assets.
