From January 16 to 24 (both included) a registration form will be open (LINK TO THE FORM) to enroll in the process of generating a driving group for the Cardedeu project.

The project

Sostre Cívic will buy a plot of land in Cardedeu to build a co-operative housing building on a leasehold basis as a strategic bet for the entity. In this way, it guarantees the affordable price of a good number of homes that are outside the speculative market, at the same time that they are in the territory, beyond the AMB, the model in cession of use of access to the housing

Cardedeu is an extremely attractive municipality for the cooperative because it has a very rich social fabric and association network that will certainly help to consolidate this project. The municipality's Housing Council has shown a special interest in this initiative for the component social you have

The chosen lot is located on the border between the urban fabric and the territory of the agricultural park and the Parc de la Serreta, near the Rodalies de Catalunya station, and near a pedestrian access road to the old town of municipality The location is in a privileged area, both from an urban and landscape point of view. The team of architects from Labaula Cooperative of Architects has drawn up preliminary studies to assess the characteristics of the site and guarantee its architectural viability.

The project is committed to co-housing, and for this reason, large areas of common spaces will be designed in the building to develop diverse uses that respond to the group's collective needs.

At this moment, the cooperative is developing an information process to find a group of partners who will be the main promoters of the project through a participatory process.

Project calendar

• From January 16 to 24: Registration on the form (LINK) to be part of the driving group

• January 25: Publication of the lists of people registered and accepted to be part of the driving group

• February 1: Deadline to make the first contribution of €1.000.

• 1st week of març: Deadline for making the second contribution (conditional on obtaining external financing after the purchase).

• 1st quarter 2018: Purchase of the land

• 2nd quarter 2018: Knowledge and formation of the group, definition of values ​​and coexistence model

• 3rd quarter 2018: Participatory workshops to define the spaces and different elements of the architectural project

• 4th quarter 2018: Validate the architectural project and preparation of the Technical Project

• 1st quarter 2019: Application for building permits and start of works.

Access criteria to the driving group

• Be a member of Sostre Cívic (link to become a member)

• Have registered in the online form

• The general criterion for access to the project is the seniority of registration in the cooperative.

• The entity reserves the right to prioritize previously consolidated groups, reserving a percentage of the project's potential homes for these groups.

• The entity reserves the right to allocate a percentage of the potential homes to the senior co-housing typology.

Criteria for previous groups

• A minimum of 50% of the members/units of the group must be members of the entity

• Having registered in the online form and sent by e-mailprojectes@sostrecivic.cat> the group's presentation file with the subject "cardedeu group file".

• In the case of opting to access the set of homes reserved for previously consolidated groups, the criterion for prioritizing access would be the arithmetic mean of the membership number of the members of the group.

Project registration process

Interested persons must fill in the registration form from January 11 to 24 (both inclusive) and answer all the questions that arise.

If you want to present yourself as a consolidated group, in addition to filling out the registration form individually, you must send a group presentation file before January 24, which includes:

• Presentation of the group and its members (brief presentation of each unit of coexistence and history/background of the group)

• Motivation to live in a collective housing project

• Intentionality (desired coexistence model, distinctive features, shared values...)

• Rooted in the municipality and county

• Link and trajectory to SostreCívic and the Solidarity Economy.
